The Medical Center Library is located in the Mudd building (between the hospital & TSCHE):

  • ePrint is a Duke printing service.
  • Names and IDs for all currently enrolled School of Medicine students have been added to our system.
  • The ePrint station is located next to the Service Desk. Students can independently access it without monitoring from Library staff.
  • Additional ePrint stations are available throughout campus, including the Trent Semans Center.
  • A quick video on how to print efficiently and faster while reducing toner and paper use can be found here.

Printing from Library Computers

  • All computers on Level 2R (except PIN workstations) allow users to print using their own individual copy cards.
  • Cards may be purchased with cash from a vending machine (Level 2) or with a credit card from Library Administration (Level 1, Rm 103).
  • Black/white copies cost 7 cents per page; color copies cost 25 cents per page.

Study Carrels

Numerous study carrels are available on level 2R & level 3 for individual or group study. First come, first served.

Room Reservations

Study rooms may be reserved by faculty, staff, and students for 2 hour blocks per individual or group. Rooms may be scheduled for up to 1 week in advance (including the day of the reservation). After a 15-minute grace period for arrival, the space becomes available to others. Book online:

If you want to know which books you currently have checked out, log in here with your NetID and Password.

In addition to numerous computers located on Level 2R and Level 3 (which require Duke Health ID and password for access):

  • Our large monitors on stands may be borrowed by students and faculty for use throughout our building and Trent Semans. No checkout or scheduling is needed! They are located on Level 3 by the elevators. Just return them when you’re done.
  • Patient Information Network (PIN) Stations are located on Level 2R.
  • A scanning station is located on Level 2R. You can save your scans to a USB drive (USB drives are available for purchase at the Service Desk), send to the printer, or send to e-mail.
  • We know it's cold and we're sorry. While we can't completely control the temperature, we do offer blankets at the Service Desk.
  • Feel free to bring food and drink to the library.
  • A microwave and vending machines are located on Level 1.
