How to add citations from PubMed

Click "From PubMed" and enter query into the search box that appears. **You may do an author search in either My Bibliography or Pubmed using your name with the [au] tag as shown in these examples.

Adding citations to My Bibliography

NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring compliance of any NIH funded publication for which you were either an author OR the PI of the grant.  This means you may need to include articles for which you were not an author but which were supported by a grant you are a PI on.

How to add citations manually

Click 'Add manually' and select the type of citation you would like to add. Enter citation information into the fields as appropriate and click 'Add Citation'

How to add citations by uploading a file

Click "From a file" and select one with citations in MEDLINE or RIS format.

A confirmation message indicates the no. of citations added to My Bibliography.

How to Add Delegates

Use the 'Delegate' feature to give others the ability to manage your My Bibliography to link citations to awards and edit compliance status.

1. From My Bibliography, click on your username in the upper right hand corner, then "Account Settings."

2. On the next screen, select "Add a Delegate." You will need to enter the email of the person you want to add. You can add more than one person.

Confirm Delegate Connection

If you have been assigned to be a delegate, confirm using the steps below:

  1. Sign in to your My NCBI account.
  2. Click on the URL in the email you received from My NCBI.
  3. When prompted, click on the 'Confirm Connection" button.

A link to the delegated bibliography will be in your collections in your account.
