Getting Started

Welcome to the Population Health Sciences LibGuide! This guide includes key resources for Population Health Sciences MS and PhD students at Duke University. If you happen to be on West Campus/Duke University Medical Center Campus, you are welcome to stop by the Medical Center Library and use our space to study or as a place for group meetings. See below for more information!

ePrint

  • ePrint is a Duke printing service.
  • Names and IDs for all currently enrolled health education students (MD, PA, PT, OT, Nursing) have been added to our system.
  • The ePrint station is located across from the Service Desk on Level 2R.
  • Additional ePrint stations are available throughout campus, including the Trent Semans Center.

Study Carrels

There is non-reservable seating available on level 2R & level 3 for individual or group study on a drop-in basis.


Cubicles & Study Room Reservations

Equipment: All study rooms are equipped with large monitors and whiteboards and seat between 4 and 8 people. 

Reservation Policy: Group study rooms may be reserved for 6 hour blocks per individual or group. Rooms may be scheduled for up to 1 week in advance (including the day of the reservation). Availability is based on booking with preference given to those with reservations. There is no time limit on the use of cubicles. After a 15-minute grace period for arrival, these spaces become available to others.

If you want to know what items you currently have checked out or need to renew items, log in to My Library Account with your NetID and Password.

If you are too busy to scan materials or need items not available at Duke, this service can help you! Submit your request through our Document Delivery/Interlibrary Loan System (link below). There is no charge to Duke borrowers for all article requests. If there are copyright or other fees associated with your article request, we will contact you. Journal articles and book chapters, from Duke and elsewhere, emailed to you as PDF links. You will have 30 days to access the link(s) once you receive the email. There is a 1 to 4 day turn-around for most requests. Larger requests may take longer than 4 days to fill.

In addition to numerous computers located on Level 2R (which require Duke Health ID and password for access):

  • Patient Information Network (PIN) Stations are located on Level 2R.
  • A scanning station is located on Level 2R. You can save your scans to a USB drive, send to the printer, or send to e-mail.
  • Dress accordingly as it can be chilly in the library!
  • Feel free to bring food and drink to the library.
  • Please use the provided cleaning supplies to clean your spaces before/after use.
