  • Hospital Care Intensity Index (HCI)  
      
    A data tool from the Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care that reflects both the amount of time spent in hospital and the intensity of physician services delivered in the hospital. Select one or more hospitals, either from a list, or by state and region, according to the relative intensity of inpatient care delivered by the providers. Prepared reports are given for the selected hospitals. 3 basic reports: the Medicare Spending Report; the Resource Allocation Report; and the Patient Experiences Report.
  • Hospital Compare  
      
    Provides information by hospitals participating in a national project called the Hospital Quality Alliance. It includes data on how often hospitals follow best practices for patients with heart attack, heart failure or pneumonia.
